TWO WEEKS IONIAN SEA CABIN CHARTER
The great thing about sailing in Greece is that every island is different. Each has its individuality and makes it fascinating. The differences are both cultural and scenic. Many of our past clients who have sailed in the Caribbean or the Pacific say they find Greece more varied. The Ionian Sea is covered in evergreen pine forests. Trees overhang the quiet coves we sail into, providing perfect shade for midday picnics and siestas.
We will visit most of the following coastal places or islands, Ligia, Amoudia, Lichnos, Parga, Sivota, Plataria, Paxi and Antipaxi islands and Corfu. The whole area is unique with over 40 miles of sandy beaches, secluded coves, beautiful bays, turquoise waters and incredible archeological, historical and religious interest.
PREVEZA
Our main base in the IONIAN SEA is located at Preveza, which is a coastal town with an island flair, built at the entrance of Amvrakikos Gulf located at the double delta of the rivers Louros and Arachthos along with the lagoon complex that has a rare ecosystem protected by the RAMSAR international treaty. Day trips could be organised by us on request, prior to embarkation or your disembarkation (fees apply). On these day trips you can have a very enjoyable time watching dolphins feeding and the glorious marine life of Amvrakikos and having a relaxing day on peaceful waters.
Also Preveza is a modern town, administrative, commercial, intellectual and tourist center of the prefecture. Beautiful, traditional buildings adorn the port and the historical center while the pedestrian walkways and cobblestone streets lined with popular taverns, cafès and bars creating a Greek island effect.
PAXOI - ANTIPAXOI
The tiny island of Paxoi is located south of Corfu, on the northern side of the Ionian Sea. This is a place with intense cosmopolitan style due to the many yachts that moor in its ports in summer. Paxoi island is mostly famous for the wonderful beaches with the exotic blue color.
Particularly the uninhabited islet of Antipaxi has few of the most wonderful beaches in Greece, with true Caribbean water. Gaios, Lakka and Logos are the three villages of the island, with traditional architecture and relaxing beach promenades.
CORFU
Its rich multi-cultural heritage, its historic monuments, its stunning natural landscape, its crystal clear seas and its excellent weather all year round explain why Corfu is one of the most cosmopolitan Mediterranean destinations. Due to the successive dominations of the Venetians, the French and the British over the centuries, the island has primarily become part of the Western world.
SIVOTA - EPIRUS
Βlue and green, is the main reason why Syvota is considered as one of the most exotic destinations within Greece; lacy shores, luscious green islets, long sheltered beaches with crystal clear waters and secret coves, are just some of the settlement’s characteristics that nature has open handedly offered. It is the perfect stop f for sailors of the Ionian archipelago, nevertheless it is a must destination for all.
PARGA
This small town is situated in a secluded bay of the Ionian Sea and has an intense island feeling. The colorful houses of Parga Greece are constructed amphitheatrically along the slopes of a mountain, offering nice view to the sea. A green islet with a white church stands at the entrance of the port, while the ruined walls of a Venetian castle can be seen on top of a hill above the town.
MEGANISI
The island of Meganisi is located just between Lefkada and the western mainland coasts of Greece. This is an island with few population and limited tourist development. Vathi, a fishing village, now one of the most famous touristic resorts in the Ionian Sea. The harbor keeps its traditional character even if it has become a favorite mooring of yachts and sailing vessels due to the organized marina operates there.
Spartochori, a traditional village with stone houses, small courtyards and narrow cobbled streets, is built on a hill and beyond the main road, a path full of green, hiding in its path the Cave of the Cyclops, that joins its seaport, Spilia. Katomeri, built east, also a traditional village overlooking the bay of Atherinos, waiting for you to walk through the narrow alleys and chat with the hospitable inhabitants. The island retains its traditional character with its picturesque villages, its harbors, the old windmills linked with myths and local legends and the scattered chapels.
KEFALONIA
This green island with breathtaking beaches and crystal clear waters of greenish-blue colours will leave you speechless. Kefalonia glows in the Ionian Sea and carries a rich history in cultural tradition. It’s the biggest Ionian Island and the green of its mountains blend with the blue of the water making it truly unique and a beloved destination.
